Growing the WriterStead Theme Library: From One Theme to Three, and Beyond

Today marks a special milestone for WriterStead. What began as a focused, single-theme platform has now blossomed into a curated collection of three distinct design options, each tailored to different authorial needs. The thing is that different writers have different needs for how they present themselves to their audiences, and themes are part of meeting those needs.

Meet the New Themes

Basic: The Bookish Foundation

Basic remains the heart of WriterStead. This simple, literary starter theme is enabled by default on every new site, and for good reason. It's where we began this project. Basic is a clean, distraction-free canvas that puts your words front and center. Think of it as the writer's equivalent of a well-worn notebook: familiar, reliable, and perfectly suited for getting the work done. For many authors, Basic is all they'll ever need.

Elegant: Modern Minimalism

Our second addition, Elegant, brings a fresh aesthetic to the platform. With its crisp white background and contemporary typography, this theme is designed for authors who want their content to feel airy, sophisticated, and effortlessly readable. Monograph: The Author's Spotlight

Monograph is our third and most purpose-driven theme yet. Built specifically for authors centered around promoting a single book, this design treats your work as the star attraction. Whether you're launching a debut novel, a poetry collection, or a nonfiction title, Monograph provides a dedicated framework for book authors without overwhelming your readers with unnecessary clutter.

A Living Library

This is just the beginning. We plan to create more themes as needs arise, guided by the writers who use them. If you're a WriterStead user with a particular scenario in mind.
